As I close my eyes
I feel the exhaustion
Surround my body
Surround my mind
Surround my soul

I breathe in slowly
As I feel the life
Draining from my veins
In smudges of crimson
Hoping for peace

Taking my finger
Signing my name,
In the red that is on my finger
Leaving a big, scarlet
I’m sorry
At the end

I’m sorry mother
I’m sorry sister,
I’m sorry lover,
I’m sorry friend
May you not be unhappy
Because of my cowardice

Death welcomes me
Like a long lost friend
And I look back
At all that I’ve left
And the mess I’ve made
With my departure

No one will understand
Except her
The one that always did
I see her kneeling
By this box that encloses my body
At my cold side

She’s the only one
Who prays for my serenity
Who prays that
I have found what I’m looking for
Who prays for the redemption
I never received in life
