Nightmare

close your eyes
fall asleep
wave of dream
through thoughts shall creep.

a fanciful dream
to unseemingly change
twisted and shaped
as nightmares arrange.

solemn and quiet;
nothing you hear.
asleep in your terror
subject to fear

this nightmare; you must endure
cant seem to awaken.
trapt within torment;
alone and forsaken

then just as it came
the madness concluded
you wake in the darkness
forlorn and secluded.

no one to hold you
when fear holds its clutch
no one there; no one
when unease is too much.

so you pull up the covers
trustworthy and tight.
closing your eyes shut
praying it'll be alright.
