Wake up.
Into darkness like a curtain.
Moonlight breaks through clouds so heavy.
Windowpanes ask if it is time.
Drapes answer yes.
Answer yes.

Cold feet slip from covers.
The door says hello.
Hands that tremble grasp handle tight.
Step questions step.
To the next world and back.

The bed feels empty.
Covers astray.
Windowpanes wonder;
Where have you gone?
