I found a wire in my hat,
I said “My, would you look at that!
I found a wire in my hat.
I wonder who put it there,
Sure to tangle in my hair.”
However, upon close inspection,
I found the wire tightly wedged in,
So as not to tangle.
‘This wire looks electrical,
Just like the wires Daddy pulls,
but smaller.’
At first I thought that Dad might use it,
Then I thought, ‘No, why abuse it?
Dad has great big spools of wires,
They might hurt this one
with pliers.’
Anyway, Dad has been working so hard,
What he needs is a nice big card,
But I couldn’t think of what to do,
So I wrote a poem just for you.
