[Talenya]: 299.Poetry.A Dark Winter's Reflection

Note: I get sad around this time with no one special to share it with & my birthday right around the corner. I’m not sure I mean what’swritten, it’s just how I feel right now.

The world’s become colder,
This winter’s not over,
And here I am getting to be a year older,
But the funny thing is that isn’t at all what’s makin’ me sad,
No, it’s being banished from your arms,
I never dared dream for your heart,
Though some dark part of me had hoped,
With acceptance on my part we could try,
Guess those just get chalked up to more pipe dreams.
I can’t stop thinkin’ of how I’d like things to be,
But, I guess that’s just how life goes,
And, I’ll just have ta take that.
Who knows,
Though, I may be a dreamer & a fool,
I may just make it in this crazy would,
If it don’t crush my spirit first.
I’ve only got a little bit left,
Been soldierin’ on half broken with despair,
Half hopin’ there’s a light up ahead,
Thought that that’s what you’d be,
But, I guess I must have fallen asleep, again,
Lost in another hopeless dream——
