Slowly, hesitantly, as if in a dream, the woman lifted her hand. Her fingers moved of their own accord to trace the line of his jaw gently, oh so gently, finger pads tingling with the contact as their eyes locked.
She then said something that was almost a whisper on the wind, barely able to say it in the silence.
“I’ve wanted to do that for so long...”
The wind picked up a bit, ruffling his raven locks as he stood stock still, chestnut eyes gently closed. He hardly dared to breathe let alone move for fear of breaking this perfect moment. Her touch sent shivers down his spine and warmed his soul. “Me too” he said warming his face with a smile that made her face flush. She looked away feeling her heart flutter, a little shyness still lingering with her. “I love you Evenelstar. I always have.” She said quietly but passionately.
Evenelstar opened his eyes, seeing her blushing, and laughed a gentle but soul warming laugh. She looked back at him, enchanted by his beautiful laugh and burst into laughter herself from nerves and exhilaration. Hugging her smaller frame close he continued to laugh out of sheer joy. She threw her arms around his neck feeling all the cares of the world vanish with their laughter. “I love you Willowharp.” He breathed in her ear, feeling a flood of emotions surge through him. Willowharp hugged him tighter in response, tears brimming on the edge of her eyes. “At last, at last” she said in her heart.
