There is an angel
Its wings are spread,
And nailed to a table.
Its crystalline eyes
Stare out from a jar.
Its heart of gold,
To be put on display.
The men in white coats,
Who watch as the sex is removed,
Study it in awe and wonder
As they tear it apart to answer
For questions they never thought to ask
Would you blow your trumpet
If your lungs were still there?
Ah, if not for science
There would be no miracles in the modern world.

2006-04-13 Annie: According to your description i shouldn't look for any deep meanings or anything in your poetry but...this poem is beautiful and so true...wonderful satire, an opinion i think many people would dislike today...but i love it! i'm adding it to my bbc... :)

2006-04-14 The_wolf_9966: I did not mean that I did not have meaning, just that I do not usually write about personal experience. Again thank you for the comment, and I am not sure what "bbc" is, but I'm sure that I should probably thank you for that too ;)

2006-04-14 Annie: haha, hm...i can't even remember what bbc stands for but, it's the writings that i've read and enjoyed on a wiki page for people to read, it's a group that does this. here's the link to my bbc... BBC of Annie and the original group i think is here... BBC

2006-04-29 iippo: :D BBC stands for Backwards Book Chart, and I made it to help people share what they have read and their opinions on it. And it works, I'm here because of Annie! :D And I agree with her whole-heartily, this is a fabulous poem.
