How is it that we are a le to suround ourselves in luxury, while others are in desolation? How is it that we are able to exuse materialism as success, while others struggle just to feed themselves? We exploit the poor and spill the blood of innocents just for comfort, while poisoning and killing the environment for the sake of convenience. We'll pay hundreds of dollars for clothe with a name on it, yet refuse a dollar to someone in need. We'll pay for chemically treated water, while polluting the pure and natural. To keep jobs, we'll continue to support companies which poison the air and produce products that kill. We colonize others, presenting out ideals and beliefs as superior and advanced, forcing those more 'primitive' to commit cultural suicide by drowing themselves in cultural melting pots at economic gunpoint. We fear what is different and destroy what we don't understand. We outlaw that which can naturally ease pain, yet leagalize that which kills. We strive to be the same and condemn the unique. We worship people who are placed on social pedistals, while curse and ignore that which is worthy of worship. We demand evidence for truth yet teach and uphold falsities. We distort beauty and love, then brainwash our children with those distorted ideals. We have become so consummed with rights that we have forgotten about responsibility. We teach blame rather than accountability, lust rather than love, assimilation rather than toleration, labels rather than acceptance, selfishness rather than empathy, lies rather than truth, greed rather than charity.

This is the progress of which we are so proud, the legacy we eagerly pass on to our children, our future. The future for which we have no time for, which we pawn off on others. The future that we are teaching to hate instead of to love, where livnig for yourself is more important than living for others. Where it doesn't matter who you hurt so long as what you want is achieved.

This is the truth to which most blind themselves to, the truth which most try to hide and excuse. It is the truth which everyone recognizes yet refuses to accept. This is the truth which none are willing to change. This is the nature of the beast, the reality of our world.
