Neva and Lea went out of school. "Finally!" Lea said, making her eyes wide and pretending to faint, "I can't stand it anymore! Where will we use this knowledge?!" Neva looked, testing, at Lea. It will pass. "Remember what happened with my dad and calm down! You won't get a human job without primary education!" Lea closed her mouth and thought about it a little. Like always, Mis Sanity was right. "Sorry. I simply got wery annoyed by those stupid teachers!" "I know. You simply have to learn how to live with them," Neva replied. Lea changed the topic. "How's it going with Krista?" "She's weird... Each day the question "why isn't she a fairy?" gets more and more pressing. Why does she have to fight through the life in the world? I'm afraid life won't be easy at all for her. I hope I can help Krista..." Thoughtful, they both left the city. "Lea," Neva suddenly said, "Something's happened to Krista. I'm sorry, guess I'll have to take a shortcut to home." Lea could only open her mouth to say "It's okay", when Neva was gone.

Neva's father flinched and part of the boiling milk spilled in fire. "You frightened me!" He said, laughing, "Now you clean up!" Neva blew up all the spilled milk. "I so wanted to do something like that to our teacher's pointing stick!" "I understand you," father smiled, then went serious. "Why the rush? What's happened?" "Don't know," Neva said, got herself a glass of water, ate two sandwiches and took a chair. Father saw how his daughter sat unmoving and watched some undetermined spot above the carpet. "A proffesional" Father thought with a smile and continued to make milk soup.

Krista was laying on her bed at home, crying. It had been a week since Vita had last said her something. She had met her on the street a few times but sometimes hadn't even heard a "Hi!". On the last Arts lesson Reinis had acted just disastrous- annoyed the teacher and got in fight with Victor just because Victor had taken his brush. And on the way to home he tried to amuse her with stories about how he had annoyed teachers at school. Krista had liked him quite a lot before, but now she wanted she had never met him. Before it had seemed to her that all the world was her friend, but in the last week she had noticed that no one was even looking at her. The girl felt like left alone, looked like even her family doesn't know what she actually is.

Besides, the Decision was coming closer and closer. She had to choose between art and science. Krista did well at both, only in art she had to wrok a lot, and she didn't. On the other hand, the science... About her knowledge there, she knew only the good results in Latvia range competitions... And doing both, like until now, would drain all her strength.

There was so much of it, and even Krista's strong mind broke.

Neva almost cried in compassion but she forced herself to calm down. She won't let Krista tell herselv lies.

Krista's body lay, but her mind was wandering in the dark, seeing nothing, just blaming all the wrong choices of Krista's past and shouting from desperation. Neva saw it. It was wrong, the fairy wanted to run and save her at once but it was too dangerous, by diong that immediately, she could shock her, perhaps even... Neva shrugged.

She ran to Krista and caught her. The run of Krista's thoughts stopped. She didn't know why had she done that. Neva waited for a moment, then began clearing Krista's head of lies. She both hugged her and calmed by "telling" everything was quite all right, and with one hand she freed her of doubts, melodramatic shouts, exaggerations, self-torture. Krista felt weird. She slowly calmed down- It's not that bad, I've got Neva! And I've got sisters. But I wanted so much to meet a real person like Neva. No, her former dance teacher had been like that, but Krista had left dancing because she had too much to do... Worrying about Reinis was just stupid, and she still had almost two years to decide between art and sciences! Yet, even relieved from lies, it all put a big weight on her chest. Krista couldn't forget that in the primary school she had only learned, didn't get any friends, didn't show everyone she's a human, too, not only a walking encyclopedia, and so she didn't have any friends anymore... Krista woke up andlay calm, eyes open. "Depression" was the word for it. Krista knew she has to get over it, but she didn't want to. Freaky but fact. Neva hugged Krista a good-bye, and the girl understood that, no matter how she wanted it, Neva couldn't help any more. She already is Krista's best friend, they won't be able to meet and she had to get human- friends herself. A fairy can't do anything there. Can, but, probably, shouldn't.
