A Fallen Angel

Misunderstood,
    She meant no harm.
Things were not
How they appeared.
Her heart was pure,
But her wings were black,
The black of moonless midnight
The black that reeks of evil
But it was only cloth,
Her heart was glowing with goodwill.

Now she is falling,
It’s a moment too late.
They cannot reverse
What they have done.
Cannot bring back
A tiny angel
All in black.

She tried to help,
There was nothing she could do.
A silent tear
Rolled down her ebony cheek.
They saw her,
Standing among the bodies,
The bodies of those she loved.
Helpless, alone.

She said not a word,
There wasn’t time.
They struck so quickly,
She was defenseless,
Small, fragile,
Her thin body shook with silent grief.
Then she was still
And now she is falling
Falling, through strange scenes
Unfamiliar to her childishly innocent eyes.

Angel falling,
Robed in black.
She was innocent, struck down
For the color
She chose to wrap herself in.

Now she is falling,
It’s a moment too late.
They cannot reverse
What they have done.
Cannot bring back
A tiny angel
All in black.

It was just a color,
A color that surrounded her like a mother’s arms.
To them it was evil,
To her, it was just the way she was.
Her blood was warm as any
But crimson doesn’t show on black.
Loving angel,
Falling,
Gone.

Not my best work, but I still kind of like it.

2007-05-29 bloody kisses: Nah, I couldn't tell at all. ^.*

I do like it as well, or else I wouldn't be saying it. Maybe you should go back to that stage...it's always quite fun *giggles*
