The light came and enveloped me
As I sat in silent shades;
In pitch and ink
In blackest blacks.
I sat and I knew darkness;
It’s simplicity, all being one,
One shade of slate
Where dimension and form
Are unfathomable, nonexistent.
All it asked was I knew it,
Wholly, that I lived by it,
Understood only black;
Only this bodiless tint never-ending.
I walked no paths
But trampled over all that was concealed,
Not even imagining
That hidden things existed.
And then light came…
And enveloped me.
Showing me the incomprehensible.
Things like hue, value,
The ranges of gray
That are never quite black,
Never quite white.
Simplicity was slain,
But not before torture.
Not before I saw all that dark had hidden.
Never again would I find peace.
In the dark I adjust my sight
And see the grays.
I know something’s there.
I see the world
And it’s horror.

2007-01-02 TheMHasSpoken: Ok, yes, if you caught me submitting this twice, let me explain. I am new and I was looking at other people’s writings and how wonderfully organized they were. And I looked at my own and well, grimaced at what a mess they are, so since I don’t know if there is a way to move things around, I’m just resubmitting things so everything is in order. This also means I loose the only comment I have received. Drat. So, yes, I’m not being an attention whore and trying to put my stuff in the recent writing section as much as I can so I’ll be noticed. Oh, hell no.
