Ode to Feminism

There was a time, I once said,
As I tucked my daughter into bed,
That you would have grown up to know
The frustration, pain and deep sorrow
Of one who is thwarted in her desires,
Not allowed to pursue what she aspires.
But because of those courageous dames,
Sheppard, Steinem, and other names,
There is no limit to what you may attempt;
You are not tied down by anyone’s contempt.
The truth is that both woman and man
Fall under the category of “human”.
They are different, yes, but equal too,
And there is no limit to what both can do.
