The grand ballroom was a sight to see. Packed with people dancing, twirling, mingling, and laughing, I felt right at home. The crystal chandeliers glistened, and the ornate decorations of silver and garnet rendered me speechless. Slowly, taking it all in, I descended the spiral staircase where my prince awaited me. He took my hand, and before I even reached the floor, spirited me back up the stairs and to the balcony. Our eyes locked, he drew my face closer to his. As his lips touched mine, I was roused from my nap. I groaned and grimaced, my tongue fuzzy from sleep. I came face-to-face with Professor Harting and flushed, mortified at my bumble. Judging by the snickers behind me, I must have been talking in my sleep. It was a stupid habit, and I resolved then and there to break myself of it.
