This is a story about a girl and the mask she used to wear. For her perfume behind the mask. Which was her name doesn’t matter anymore. The girl had stopped believing in dreams because she’d lost them thrice. Once upon a time she believed in the magic of love. The love of a lover, the love of a friend, both lost. She was deprived. It was then that the girl wore the mask that completely hid her face. If people didn’t know who she was, then she couldn’t be loved thus, she wouldn’t love anyone back anymore. So she started denying the magic of love just like others had done before of her. The mask stuck on her face.

An angel saw the mask and fell in love with it. He forgot that he could never be with a mortal. He gave her everything and she declined. The angel returned to his cloud-made house. And in the candles’ sweat he would she the mask he loved.

Time went by and whenever the girl would remember the angel she’d get out at her window and laugh at him because he believed in love. Always wearing the mask she was telling him that love doesn’t exist. Then came a night…. A magic night. The pixies and fairies were dancing under the full moon and the angel happened to listen to the girl. He looked down on earth and saw the mask he loved. Her scent that night, felt more divine than all the paradise’s jasmines. He didn’t know it was coming behind the mask. He didn’t know it was coming out from a soul in pain. He sat up in his cloud and thought of the mask. He thought of casting a spell to make her even for just one second to see love again.

But he was an angel and spell casting was forbidden to him. But… that night… that night everything seemed so simple. He sent a spell at the moon and shivers went down the spine of the girl with the mask. She looked around and saw the world under a magic moonlight. The light that unites the people’s souls. For the first time, she took off the mask. For the first time… She held it in her hands and went out, barefoot on the beach. The sun had left his warmth on the sand and the girl kept walking and got into the sea. She dived like a mermaid and her perfume filled the air. A wave sent the mask out off her hands and took it far away. The angel looked shocked at the mask he loved, sinking bit by bit and as his stare fell on the girl and saw her unmasked face, loved her even more.

The girl was looking for the mask but it was all in vain. The moment of magic was gone. She fought with the waves for a long time and finally the mask called her to it. The angel looked down puzzled and saw the girl’s body, unmasked and soulless and he started weeping silently. And the weeping never died down.

The other angels cast him away because he had used forbidden magic and since then he’s wandering the world. It’s said that if you happen to drop by a sea that will smell like a valley of jasmines and feel a soft drizzle on your skin it’s the sea of our story when the girl with the mask was lost. The scent of the girl had been trapped in the waves and the rain is the angel’s tears who mourns for his lost love
