While wandering through the shadows in the valley of death, only the lightfooted may tread. For the heavy footed will sink into the depths of not only their own demise, but the demise of all those who came before them with the same leaden feet. But one can only drown in the depths if their feet are heavy enough to bring them down, enough even to bring their eyes from the light in to the true darkness of death.
It is not enough to be light in foot though, for there are always those with heavy feet who will cling to those that can walk as they please on the hallowed ground. One must have enough sense of one's self and surroundings to trod carefully and avoid such people, and things.
There is no place darker than the shadowed depths of the all consuming fate that engulf every soul and body in time. But to those who can step, and step carefully at that, light awaits you within the shadows.
