However, things were different in the early das. Mourning Mansion had a different name, one of happiness and joy. Merry Mansion was its name of old, named to suit the family of the house. Joy was in the air and peace reigned overall.
Lord Matthew Whyte, the owner of the house, had just moved into Merry Mansion. His great-aunt had passed away recently and left her house to him.
It was a family tradition that whenever someone owned the mansion, they would keep the family portraits in the Great Hall. Lord Whyte was no exception. The day he moved in, he added his own portraits as was the custom. There was one of his parents, one of his sister and, of course, one of himself, the current lord of the house.
