 Portrait
I never thought I would get to miss you. I was used to live without you, my other half, and I thought I could continue like that. On the seaside, I was dreaming alone a dream that seemed so familiar, that made me feel complete. In the light of the sunset, when my hair became flame and my skin gold, I was leaving the waves that kept dreaming, and, behind me, the song of the mermaids got farther and farther. But I started dreaming of you, each and every night, coming towards me, but when I tried to touch you, you disappeared like mist. I woke up feeling something missing in my arms...
So I sent the birds seek you in the puffy light of the clouds, above the sea where the mermaids sing in the evenings, covered by the colours of sunset. I sent the butterflies seek you, shaking the flowers to see their dreams. I asked the stars to bring you from the depth of the darkest nights, when the moon does not shine.
From feathers of white wings I made the canvas and I smoothed it with my breath. From flakes of clouds and light I made my brush, I used the dreams of the flowers for my colors. I took a deep breath, seeking you in me – and I started painting.
I found your face in the dreams realm, and I soaked my brush into the night for your hair. To paint your eyes, I looked into the waters, there where the light can no longer get, where the depth becomes brown. From tree heart, from forest shadow, from cold wind whisper, from wave strength I made your body, with feline undulation, deceptive like a snake – I painted you the way I have dreamt you.
Then I took ivory powder in my palm and I let the soft sea wind blow it over the contours, giving your body shadows and reliefs. To finish it, I threw the brush and the colors away. I moved closer to the canvas from which you were smiling to me. The sun was covering my white, naked body in gold. My heart was beating madly – so weird for a statue. I touched your cold chest, your motionless heart with my breasts, your ivory skin caressed me. My blue eyes showed you the light of the skies, my red lips gave you the warmth of love. I whispered your name, as my voice didn`t dare to break the silence.
And I waited for you to wake up, Pygmalion, I, your Galatea.
