"Apart from me"

You kiss me through a gravel veil,
your shimm'ring face a hidden place
apart from me

Somewhere past the sealing sky
you've turned aside your astral eyes
apart from me

and even though I look for you
and know that you are there
this canopy, this stone ceiling
is all I ever see


no matter what I think I know
is true,
pages words and memory
are all I know
of you,

and though I have no evidence,
no way to know, my seventh sense
swears you glow for someone else
apart from me
