It was like Soreth to get mad like this, it happend quite frequently with the fire angel. Just as his element told, Soreth was a firey creature, that had the shortest fuse, while still being considered a fuse at all.
Most angels knew what the fire elemental angels were born from, but few kept it as 'common knowledge'. Angels were born from an egg, which is created from a dead soul, which was not allowed to reiencarnate for some reason or another. Many demon souls were put into this catagory, but only the few, violent and bloody demons, that certainly fit under the demon title, became fire angels.
Soreth had been born from one of those very souls, though her rarely talked of it and tried his best to simply ignore the fact. While all angels sooner or later discovered their origins, Soreth pretended not to know, or at least not to care.
The demon's name was never found, for he changed it frequently while still among the living. He raped and pillaged and killed, simply because he felt the need to excite himself. He liked the metalic taste of blood and the pain of his victoms as they died slowly and painfuly. Few knew of Soreth's past self; only Irafel, Alevex and Roeshea knew, and he liked it that way.
Sometimes, when his temper rose, he would blame it on his soul, but it never stopped his temper, nor did he try to stop it. The fire angel was still among the highest in Sol Haven, yet many shunned him for his blackened soul.
Perhaps his past self was the reason why Roeshea did not give him the job Irfale bore, for fear that he would kill more than his target. Nonetheless, he was a branded angel and many chose to keep their distance. Even some of the younger angels, his own students, tended to fear him. They only remained with him because Irafel was there, and he was worth studying under.
Basa however, seemed to care more for the fact that she was with Soreth, than with Irafel. She listened to Irafel, but she was more intent on Soreth's words. It almost frightened the angel, since he had never been given such treatment before, but, at the same time, he felt that she was one he could converse with, someone that wouldn't shun him for his past self.
Sometimes however, Soreth felt he needed to kick himself back into reality. Basa was so friendly with him, always smiling and happy, but Soreth wanted more than just a smile. Ever since he and Irafel had taken Basa as their student, Soreth had found something more in her, in her smile. She was beautiful to him, not only physicly, but her soul was beautiful... unlike his own.
Now, the fire angel was staring angrily at the one person he had found a loving place in his heart for. She sat staring up at Soreth, dark marks on her face and tears running down her pale cheeks. Only now did Soreth realize what he had done. Ashamed... and defeated, Soreth turned away from the younger angel, esasperated with himself.
"I'm sorry," he grumbled, sounding almost like the demon he once had been. "Irafel, you and I should go back."
