My most treasured character's end.

The wind was cool that day, everything was pleasant... not that Heaven could have any other kind of day. Nonetheless, Toen grumbled at the bright sunlight, as he always did.
Being a shadow god in a universe with three suns was rather difficult to say the least, but Toen would simply drop his shades and hide below a tree to keep from the brightness of the day.
He say there quietly, half alseep, his eyes closed, listening to the wind hum through the trees as it caught a few of the blossoms and tossed them about like small dancers in air.
There was silence, something Toen had not heard in quite sometime. Everything in his life had now fallen back into it's rightful place, and he was content. Mika was happy, Marius was back home where he belonged, ready to marry Margot in a few weeks time, Fairoh was enjoying his wife and daughters company. Everyone was happy, and with the stars at rest once again, there was no need for any battles. For once, Toen had no reason to worry.
Almost completly asleep, Toen thought he heard someone call to him, but tossed it aside as a dream. He slouched back even more agianst the tree trunk, crossing his arms over his chest. He had just about dozed off when he heard footsteps comming closer to him. Lazily, the god peeked one eye out from under it's lid and looked up at the figure coming towards him. Sozosha stood there, smiling down at him as she always did, it almost reminded him of his mother in a sence.
"Council meeting?" Toen questioned as he closed his eye again. "I'll be there in a minuet."
The goddess of creation turned away again, her arms folded gently over her bilowing gown. "No," she replied, "no meeting, not today. I came only to speak with you Toen."
"Me?" asked the god, sitting up from his resting place. "What is it Sozosha?"
She turned back so quickly that Toen almost smaked his head against the tree behind him. She smiled that warm smile in his direction, looking more so like his mother than she ever had before. "We have a new member joining the council," she said happily. "He's young, right out of the Institute, but he shows promise... just like you Toen."

The pain in his chest had grown so intense over the past few days, he was barely able to get out of bed.
Slowly, Toen forced himself to sit upright in bed, swinging his feet off onto the floor. Sweat covered his chest and face as he clutched at his heart. He could tell, Sozosha wouldn't give him much more time beyond this point.
He dragged himself out of bed, only to be forced to depend on the wall to support him. His breathing was heavy, his whole body was burning and then the cough burst from his chest. He covered his mouth, trying to muffle the sound while his wife still slept. His chest burned with every cough, and with every cough, more blood seeped through Toen's fingers.
This is it, he thought as he looked back over his shoulder at his wife. Sozosha is really going to kill me.
He had to cry then, and that crying was enough to force him outside. He hadn't even realized the extreem curcumstance he was in until now. Seeing Mika lying there, sleeping as though nothing could ever go wrong again; she was why he cried.
Toen could picture his own funeral, his body already gone into the air to become another creature elsewhere. The ceremony would be beautiful, Mika would see to that... She would cry; Toen could see it as if it was happening right in front of him. For a while, Toen knew she would attempt to hold it in, because he had teased her so much for her tears over him... but she would only hold them in for so long.
"Toen lived an amazing life," Sozosha began, her hands Folded gently over her billowing dress "Born a mixed creature, he grew strong, overcame many obsticles..." she paused, passing a simple glance in Mika and Marius' direction, "fell in love, and even became an amazing god himself, not unlike his wonderful mother, Tohru. Toen Wraith, son of Manes Wraith, has now gone on to inhabit another body, and become another creature. Whether it be demon, or human or demigod, his soul will live on, unchanged and always loved."
The creator goddess bent down then, solem, more so because she certainly couldn't crack a smile in front of Toen's friends and family. She took Toen's first sword, Shadow's Blood, in her hands and rose again to thrust it into the ground just above the stone marker. The thick blade stuck firm in the ground, and certainy wouldn't move from it's position. Sozosha then bent down again to pick up Toen's second sword, Blood Bane adn it too was thrust into the ground, but unlike Shadow's Blood, Blood Bane struck the ground and a loud crack was heard throughout Heaven, as if the very foundation of the planet had cracked under the sword. With absolutly no reaction, Sozosha moved back and bowed to the marker, as if to say her last good bye.
Mika could no longer hold in her tears, and colapsed into her son's arms. "He's gone!" she sobbed into her sons chest, clutching his shirt in her fists. "Marius! He-he's gone! I can't believe he's gone!"
"I know..." was all that Marius would say, he too was crying, but he was a man about, not unlike his father. The young demigod held his mother tightly in his arms as he looked towards Sozosha, who had already began to walk away, followed by the rest of the counsil members, minus Fairoh.
Sozosha was very quite, but it wasn't a sad quite, Marius could tell. It was if she was pleased that Toen was gone, even with all the people that mouned his passing.
Fairoh clenched his fists. "I don't understand it," he muttered to himself. "He never said anything. Damn him for always being that stubborn." With that, Toen's best friend turned away from the marker, followed silently by Rina and Margot.
Two figures stood by the marker, both crying and both missing a peice of their hearts. Mika clung to her son and Marius simply stood there to hold her. To him, this wasn't right, his father should have always been there, always been there to hold his wife, to care for her and love her. Now, he was off to become someone different, someone who might possibly end up worshiping the very same person he had once cared for more than life itself.
The wind blew cooly about Marius and Mika as they stood there and Marius took those moments to think back to his fathers last days.
Marius had never found it easy to talk to his father, being that for a good part of his life, he hated his real father. Now however, in that last week of his father's life, he was more persistant that ever when it came to talking to Toen.
"Dad!" he called after his father, who he found staggering out into the sunlight, a hand covering his mouth.
Toen said nothing, though it was clear he had heard Marius. The shadow god staggered a few more paces and colapsed onto the grass beneath him, causing his son to rush to his side.
Marius dropped to his knees next to Toen and placed a hand on his father's back, who was down on all fours on the ground. "Dad!" Marius shouted. "What is going on?!"
Toen looked so angry then, his eyes were evn as crimson as his fathers had once been, but still he didn't want to say anything to Marius. All of the inside of his body was colapsing on itself and he had to suffer through it alone.

Toen Wraith, son of Manes Wraith. From exile, to salvation to love and to care for those he had once shunned
