Rating: 0.00
"Stop it," the shadow demon mumbled, kicking the water with his boot. "It wasn't you're fault! You didn't do it!" The demons body shook as he began to cry into his hands.
Sara was gone, gone because of his stupid attempt at being cold. It hadn't worked, he still had love for his childhood friend, but she was gone now.
"Toen..." a voice drifted softly over the water, like music, "Toen!" With tears in his eyes Toen looked out over the water and saw two children playing on the opposite bank. They laughed and played, as if it were a day in spring time.
At first the image was blurry, prehaps it was because Toen still had tears faulting his vision, but then he realized who they were and the tears wouldn't stop.
They had come here as children, he remembered it now as he saw himself as a young boy playing with the princess.
She hadn't known how to swim, but Toen had learned from his father before he was murdered. The two of them had sat there almost all day, while Toen tried to coax Sara into the water. he had jumped in and out a few times and was getting cold in the cool spring breeze, but he wasn't going to give up.
"C'mon Sara!" Toen watched himself call, as his childish form pulled on the princesses forearm.
Even though she was scared, she still smiled and laughed as she shouted, "No Toen! I told you! I don't know how to swim!"
With one quick jerk Toen flopped back into the water, Sara still standing on the shore, laughing at Toen as he stared up at her from beneith his red and black hair.
"It's fun Sara! I'll teach you!"
"But it gets so deep neer the middle! I-I'll drown!"
"No you wont! I promise!"
Toen watched sadly as the images faded into the wind like wisps of smoke, then realized that he had been trying to reach them the whole time. He looked down and found that his feet were almost to the drop off. He walked back to the shore.
They had been there for each other, learning about life from the other. Toen had taught her how to swim, she had taught him how to dance those silly dances that she always did when they had big parties for her family at the palace. he had told her about his family and she had showed him how hers was. Even so, in the end, Toen had betraied her. He said he would keep her safe, that she would never have to worry about anything as long as he was around, but in the end he had killed her without wanting to. Her savior was her killer.
