Fanfiction-y drabbles

These are all little bits of fanfiction that aren't really long enough to do much. Just little scenes randomly played out across my mind. All characters are copywright to their respective owners and I write these for strictly pleasure. No profit is collected.

1. "Will?" She poked her dark-haired head around the corner quickly scanning the sitting room, only to find it empty.

"William?" Her small, bare feet padded into the next room. All she found were the rows of various books covering every wall; but no husband. In her delicate hands she held an upsetting letter which she'd found lying about their bedchambers.

Aggrivated, she stopped in her tracks. "Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberly!" she yelled, no doubt heard throughout the entirety of the estate. She hastily moved on towards the next room, his office of sorts. Nothing short of obvious, there he sat, pen poised over a piece of parchment, looking up at her form in the doorway.

"Yes, my pearl?" His endearment was chosen to her specificaitons, seeing as it was Sunday and all.

"What, pray tell, is this?" she growled at him, tossing the opened letter upon his writing desk.

He looked over it briefly, blue eyes moving over the lines with impressive speed. Those same eyes widened. It was clear he hadn't meant for her to see this particular letter yet. "Lizzy, I--"

Her sharp anger cut him off. "What is this about your beloved Aunt coming to Pemberly? What is it about her bringing Miss Ann? Lady Catherine seems determined for an engagement to still form from the looks of that letter. Is it perhaps because you have yet to inform her of our more recent marriage? Have you neglected to have a letter sent to her Ladyship declaring our six months together?"

Mr. Darcy's eyes looked up at her towering figure sheepishly. Clearly, he had no desire to involve his aunt in his life since she had tried to scare his beloved Elizabeth away. "Sweet Lizzy. I meant to tell you, I just wanted to wait until the timing was perfect. I have made it very clear to my dear aunt that I did not wish her to be part of my life any longer. I explained to her the lack of feeling and connection in which both I and my cousin shared for one another and that I would marry whom I chose, not whom she told me I would. Her opinion matters little to me. However, that letter came not a fortnight ago as she does not like to give much warning. Please, darling. I know that you do not get along well with each other, and I will do my best to make her stay the most tolerable you will ever experience with her. I shall not permit any degradement of you or our elopement." He stood from his desk, his composure sure and confident as he walked to his opinionated bride. His large, caloused hands reached up to cup her face as his face softened into an expression of assurance. "I promise you, my pearl that she will appear as little as possible and that you, I, and Ann shall all make it very apparent as to no joining of our fortunes and estates."

Elizabeth let out a hard sigh at her husband. He could cool her anger as quickly as he could excite it. This promise he was making was a very hard one to fulfill as Lady Catherine de Bourgh was a very stubborn woman who would, unfortunately, stop at nothing to get her way of things. As her resolve melted, her small head reluctantly nodded in silent agreement. "Alright," she spoke. "I will do my absolute best to be a civil hostess. Know, William, that I am not cross with you, but that you lied, even by omission of the fact that she was due today."

Fitzwilliam Darcy smiled softly and kissed Lizzy gently, tenderly, letting his mouth silently profess his thanks and gratitude towards her occasionally forgiving manner. Their slightly private moment was interrupted by the ever-sweet Mrs. Renyolds, announcing the arrival of Lady Catherine de Bourgh and her daughter, Miss Anne de Bourgh in the sitting room, awaiting their prescence...
