Redwood Etiquette

There are of course a few rules that need to be observed for spending time in our establishment. Skye and I have worked very hard to keep this place in good shape, so that everyone can enjoy it. So please, observe the rules and have fun!

1. Remember, this is a game. No fighting, no getting personal. The GMs will resolve conflicts that get out of hand.

2. Please avoid powerplaying / godmoding without permission from all parties involved. If you have an 'Asobi Ticket', then you must speak with a GM about the nature of the powerplay you'd like to attempt. I will tell you more on Asobi tickets later.

3. If you speak to, or try to interact with, another player, do not wander off or do something else without giving that player a chance to respond. The game will have a gentle pace, since not all of us have a great deal of time to spend playing.

4. Players have forty-eight (48) hours to respond to being spoken to or acted upon before play will move on without them. In the case of extenuating circumstances, like a vacation or something, inform the GMs as soon as you can so that they will know. We promise that nothing bad will happen to your character without you being around, but we cannot have play hanging up for too long.

5. This will be a medium-high level game. Skye and I expect that everyone will know how to carry themselves in an advanced RP setting. We will not throw you out, but we may contact you about it if your play is too far under par.

6. Again, this is a game. So let us all enjoy ourselves!

Concerning Asobi Tickets

Asobi Tickets are interesting little pieces of Darien's book that Skye and I occasionally find floating around the Redwood Light. Occasionally we will grant one to players who fulfill certain qualifications: for some meritorious action, for good play, for fulfilling a goal, or just because we feel like it.

An Asobi Ticket is basically good for one free powerplay. You can cash it in at any time by speaking to a GM about it, and it will allow you to perform one powerplay without being fussed at. Note that there are a few rules concerning the use of Asobi tickets, though, that you should be aware of.

Asobi Tickets...

... may not be used to drastically alter the storyline.
... may not be used to kill/seriously injure/incapacitate another character without that player's permission.
... may only be held one at a time.
... must be used with good judgment.
... may not be invoked without GM permission.

Those are the limitations. For the perks, Asobi Tickets...

... may be used to escape attacks or traps.
... may be used to perform various small actions without risk of being stopped, i.e. stealing a wallet, opening a lock, slipping out of ropes, etc.
... may be used to win contests that do not directly affect the plot line, i.e., a fight with a gang member, a chess game, etc.

Please keep in mind that Asobi Tickets should be used with your character's limitations in mind. Whatever happens in your powerplay should have a reasonable chance of actually occuring in the situation. For example, if you are a normal human, you probably could not powerplay leaping from a building and landing cleanly two hundred feet down.

That should do it! Do not worry about memorizing the rules, or anything, most of them are straightforward. We hope you have fun in our tavern, and look forward to your patronage!
