Appearance: <img:http://i3.tinypic.com/wlp4ee.png> Roughly thus...may play with the hairstyle and colour more, though, when I get a chance to sketch, and note that she doesn't have the black lil bat wings or the devil tail. Webbed fingers and toes.

Skills: Wicked fighting ability, especially in melee situations. Uses a very wide range of melee weapons effectively, but favors a halbert-trident crossover type weapon when she has enough range for it and an assassin's claw when she doesn't (it braces on the wrist, since her fingers are webbed). She depends on either daggers or a crossbow at mid-range, and soley on her crossbow at long range. Also knows a good number of ways to knock people out instead of kill them. Skilled survivalist, fairly good at being a successful fugitive when necessary, well-connected in certain areas, and knows a good many ways to handle prisoners. Unusually high resistance to magic, but has none of her own.

Personality: Reil loves her alcohol, and has been known to win drinking contests with men twice her size. She's either drunk all the time or has some sort of mental disorder, but it's probably the former. It's anyone's guess what she's like totally sober. Rough around the edges, blunt, and sarcastic, Reil can amuse herself and insult the people around her with a dry, extremely random sense of humor. She's serious about conflicts though she may not seem it, and will get very irked if someone else doesn't seem to be taking a given situation seriously enough. (Yes, she can be a hypocrite on the matter.) She isn't some noble bandit. While not all bad, she definitely seems to be in it for the money. She probably won't betray her allies unless she feels they've betrayed her. Abandoning them, however, is easier to do.

History: She hasn't told [Nightshadow] yet. She's dangling it like a golden freaking carrot, but won't hand it over.

Magical Resistance: Reil has a rare genetic quirk known as "magical resistance." Spells of virtually all sorts have highly truncated levels of effectiveness against her. Non-physical effects (like mental enchantments) are generally completely ineffective, and the impact of spells with physical effects are dramatically lessened, often though not always completely negated.

This doesn't apply to secondary effects. i.e., if a spell hurtles a boulder at her, she'd sure as hell better get out of the way. That boulder is physical, and the thing that magic's actually acting on. The contact with her is secondary.

Truly psionic maneuvers are also unaffected by her resistance.

Unfortunately, it does apply to healing magic, which has little to no effect on Reil.

Limitations: Her species of mer isn't totally amphibious. She can't breathe on land for extended periods of time (more than, say, twenty minutes to an hour at a resting metabolism)--it's anyone's guess why she chooses to work here--and an advanced, partially magic-based system circulates water through thin tanks covering her gills. (No...since the magic affects her tanks and not her directly, of course her resistance doesn't affect them.)
