Screenwriting Clinic Contest Rules:

<img:stuff/purple-bluecolour2.jpg>

1. Be mature about what you write. By that I mean have standards of good taste; no unnecessary sex or violence. Basically, I don't want to see torture porn like Saw or Hostel here.

2. Swearing is fine. Be mature about it.

3. No fanfiction.

4. Yes, you may use pre-existing characters. But I want to see some character development in these scenes.

5. Please don't use stuff you've already written.

6. Please keep the scene short. You're welcome to use PLAY format, as well; actually, I suggest this, since screenplays are very close to the same thing.

7. God help you if you plagiarize. Inspiration is fine, especially if you say from where you got it.

8. ENTRIES MAY BE IN PROSE FORMAT AS WELL.

Judging

I will score entries based on...

1. Following the rules. I'll be flexible on subjective rules like #1.

2. Clearly defining the character trait in smooth context with the scene. Meaning: everything feels natural.

3. Effectiveness of the scene: creativity really does not count for a scene like this, so you don't have to be incredibly original with what's going on.

4. Whatever else I think of.
