This is probably the most excellent site that I could find that lists publisher in the United States. For most of the listings, Preditors and Editors states whether or not a certain firm is recommended. For the especially sinister publishers, this site will also give a record of their criminal history. Beware of who you send your treasured work to and do your research first.
