A massive library complex maintained by a collection of sorcery scholars. This place has everything from the very basics to the most complex of magics within its mirrored tunnels, and is sparsely populated even thought it is a standalone planet. It is divided into four wings, and a courtyard.

Yoru appears exactly where Mara had last gone... basics. As quickly as she can she begins to read through the books, moving quickly from volume to volume.

A while later Makyon steps through space, finding himself next to a table at which a certain taller Serinian sits, a stack of thick books forming a veritable wall in front of her. The Sorcerer's Primer, Party Tricks and Magic of the Illusionary Variety, Basic Elemental Sorcery Volumes 1-5, Intermediate Elemental Sorcery, Real Magic and Genuine Illusion, The Path of Wisdom, The Path of Trickery, The Path of Fame, How to Make Men Swoon, Etiquette and You, Advanced Elemental Sorcery and Introduction to Planar Manipulation, Teleportation: Where and Why to Go, Fun with Cake, Blacksmithing for Beginners, ten books on Euclidian Geometry, and dozens of books dealing with the art of water sorcery.

Yoru looks up from her studies. Her ears press back, but her eyes resonate with regret and apologies unspoken.

"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you," the slip mage assures her. "Like I could. May I sit?"

Yoru's ears relax a little. "If... you will accept my apology..."

Makyon nods, pulling out a chair next to her. "Of course. Felina told me about programming, so I can't really blame you. It would be like... you getting angry for me eating, or something." He's edgy, and sure that she knows.

She leans back, looking into his eyes. "But you knew I might hurt you again."

"Well... yeah."

"So why did you come to me?"

"I was bored, and hoped that we could work out a way to make Felina smile again. She's pretty upset, you know."

"I know..." Yoru sighs, and buries her face in her arms. "What do I do, though..."

"Change," Makyon nods. "You can do it. Look at this stack of books, Yoru... I couldn't read through one of these in a year. And how many have you finished? This side?"

"All of them." She smiles, a little proudly. "I was about to put them up."

"So..." his face whitens a little bit. "You can do all this stuff now?"

"Yes." Yoru nods. "I won't be flexible with these things until I attain some experience with them, but I can cast any spell I have read. I find myself... shying away from the psychic arts. Water just calls to me, Makyon. See?" She holds out her hand, and a baseball sized bubble blooms like flower petals above her palm. "Drink?"

"No, I'm good."

The Serinian sips from the bubble, and lets it dissipate... no mess. "Water can help people where the other elements can't."

Makyon tilts his head. "But aren't you a destroyer, Yoru?"

Her eyes gleam wickedly. "Water can destroy like no other element, too."

He narrows his eyes.

"What? Makyon, look, I am sorry I hurt you. I can't help what I am. Just... what do you want from me?"

The slip mage leans back. "I want you to promise that you'll never hurt Felina or her family."

Before a heartbeat can pass, Yoru nods elatedly. "Yes, I promise! I promise! I promise on one condition."

He blinks. Yeah, he thought it was too easy.

"Name it."

Yoru blushes. "I want Orrin."

Makyon's heart sinks into his bladder. "Yoru... no, no. A thousand times no, I can't offer you that. Besides, Felina and Orrin are happy together, and you just can't mess that up on a whim."

Her eyes flash. "A whim? You idiot! Mara was obsessed with a Dumen forever, and I have that same obsession and Orrin is the only Dumen I'll ever see! Except for that other man and he scares me."

"Yoru..."

"Don't Yoru me!" Her ears flick back and forth agitatedly. "Get out, Makyon, I don't want to talk any more." Makyon starts to protest, but in half a blink Yoru surrounds him with an impermeable bubble of water. "Don't hate me," she pleads with him, "this is for your own good." The portal back to outside Deru opens again, and the entire bubble shoves itself through.

Hours later, a librarian nudges the shoulder of the sleeping Yoru.

"Miss, are you alright?" he kindly inquires, shifting a stack of books in his arms.

"Hm? Oh... was I sleeping? I'm sorry." She smiles at him, but wearily. The stack of books in front of her is bigger than the last one, but these books are almost entirely dealing with interpersonal communication. With the exception of the cookbook she'd been stuck on for half an hour before falling asleep.

"It's okay. Sometimes patrons here stay overnight... it is a long way to travel. We have simple guest rooms set aside for it." The librarian eyes the stack of books, daunted. "Do you need help returning these to the shelves?"

"Nah," Yoru shakes her head after a nice, soul-cleaning yawn. "I'll do it, but thank you. Hey..." her eyes widen. "Do you have any books on hypnosis? Anything like that?"

"Sure. They're in the occult section."

Yoru beams at him, and a hug later, sets about replacing the other books. Except the cookbook, which she still needs to figure out.
