Are you sure that this slow community can support monthly themes on top of what we already have every month?

Actually, no, I don't. Maybe quarterly.

Yes I thnk it would be a great idea to post the winners work on main page.

Maybe 'monthly themes' could incorporate a month dedicated to a particular challenge/contest already present on WC, and then actual themes less often. It would also advertise other WC contests a lot more.

So say for instance:

Jan: (Theme) The Frozen Wastes
Feb: 5 Words Challenge
Mar: Unlazy Poets
April: Drabbles
May: (Theme) Forest Exploration

And so on...

Perhaps contests that are 'featured' as 'monthly themes' could be a little more developed to cater for a month of challenges, for instance 5 words could have four parts, a contest a week, bring to a final for the last week in the month. (Things like that would be decided by the contest owner of course)

This is doable, I think, as long as the people who run those other contests are amenable to the idea (and I don’t see that there would be a problem).

Yea exactly, owners of contests, events, etc will first have to agree to have their item the focus of a monthly theme. It may mean extra work for them, so it would be best to have their consent and also give them time to prepare for the featuring on MP.

That might be better. How many ACTIVE members do we have on here now anyway?
