I find it discouraging to win a contest because I was the only entrant. That's why I have to have a minimum number of accepted entries in Unlazy Poets before making the poll. Do you think it would make people feel better about entering if they knew they would always have at least 4 or so competitors? A minimum would mean that a monthly contest might take an extra month to fill up. If there is no interest after two months, though, it's probably better to start a new one. I don't think that a month is a lot of time to gauge interest in a theme, because people have work and school, and like to procrastinate. And then there are bratty muses that only work under the right conditions.

Yea at least it will keep people informed, and if some people don't want to know about the contest they can always close the alarm.

Yea I think this may be the right line to go along, after all, I dont really enjoy running a contest myself and having only one participant. 4 is agood number to start wit given our current actve member level, maybe in time we can increase this, or perhaps we wont have a needfor a mimimum.
