I find it discouraging to win a contest because I was the only entrant. That's why I have to have a minimum number of accepted entries in Unlazy Poets before making the poll. Do you think it would make people feel better about entering if they knew they would always have at least 4 or so competitors? A minimum would mean that a monthly contest might take an extra month to fill up. If there is no interest after two months, though, it's probably better to start a new one. I don't think that a month is a lot of time to gauge interest in a theme, because people have work and school, and like to procrastinate. And then there are bratty muses that only work under the right conditions. |
