1. All day.
She'd been out all day. Well... a few hours hardly counted as a full day, but to her it was everything. 3 o'clock came and she was sitting with the majority of her great friends, laughing, and trying to eat nachos at Amigo's mexican resturaunt as Ryan scolded them for their "lack of table manners" when eating food and cringing at their habits.
After the bill was paid and thier leisure time turned into illegal loitering and just plain taking up space, they moved out into the cold, biting wind to sit near the benches and talk more, screw around more. In the ensuing conversation, they decided upon seeing a movie finally. The movie, however, didn't happen to start until seven, and it was only five. In that respect, all seven of them piled into Mullin's van, plugged in the iPod, and blasted Dane Cook, Tenacious D, and Mr. Roboto in the small parking lot, the vehicle fogging with the heater and condensation of their collected breathing.
Finally, without much warning and on spur-of-the-mo
ment descision, the group made their way in the cold a block down the the coffee shop, where they sat and loitered for over an hour, awaiting the arrival of the movie. At abou6:15 or so, a young man with close-cropped, faded black hair and black clothing walked into the Looney Bean and straight towards the group of chatting teenagers. With a smile, he silently bent down to the ear of one girl and whispered something secret, just to get her attention. So far was she in her own thoughts that she nearly jumped from her skin and everyone shared the laugh. Catching her breath, she playfully slapped the newcomer as he sat on the floor at her feet.
As they sat and conversed, he wrapped his arm around her legs posessivly and layed his head in her lap. She lovingly stroked it, absently dropping her hand down to the nape of his neck, running her thumb up and down, up and down, softly, soothingly. He began to purr for her ears only and she smiled, knowing she was one of the group with someone to call their own.
After the talk Tori gave about her routine in church that Ryan had so ardently requested, they realized the start of the film was in 15 minutes and that they had better start over. Thanks to a small town, the theatre (which held only two movies at a time) was only a block and a half walk.
Back out into the biting cold they headed, Ryan carefully wrapped about Cat, Tori walking with them, the two Matt's continually conversing, and the last two, wrapped around each other and shivering. When they settled themselves into their seats, the row seemed to be MADE for them, perfect number of seats for everyone. They all enjoyed the movie, shared cute laughs, sad sighs, and tears of happiness towards the end. The crowd dispersed their separate ways only wake again in the morning to see each other all at school.
