Malufel is the guardian-beast of
Dothaven. In a place where things are put to be forgotten, it is the entity that keeps them from ever being remembered. Those who show will or effort to escape the island become its prey; it is a tireless hunter, who hunt neither for sport nor for food. It simply hunts because that is what it does, its sole instinctual drive.
The Malufel's voice is a gurgling sort of bellow, a hungry, menacing sound emenating from the 'mouth' in its torso. The strange lines on its 'head' are muscular flaps; the Malufel is blind, and those thick flaps protect its heat sensors. It can detect prey at significant distances, providing that nothing blocks their heat. It has a keen sense of hearing, but no sense of smell.
The Malufel stands about eleven feet, four inches at full height, and weighs between five and six hundred pounds. Its skin is thick and layered in cross-sections
, making its own hide a tough piece of armor. It can run through walls of reasonable thickness without doing itself terrible harm, and its arms and legs possess intimidating strength.
The six holes next to its mouth house a full set of insectoid limbs that the Malufel uses to drag prey into its mouth. The limbs can fire out swiftly and, while not nearly as powerful as its real arms, possess quite a bit of strength. However, the beast does not actually eat its prey; inside of its mouth there burns a black light, a strange beacon that simply draws in whatever the beasts 'eats'. Whether these victims are transported somewhere else, are digested, or are simply vaporized, is anyone's guess.
The beast will not assault those whom it is not targeting at the moment. Even accidentally; it is, in an awkward sort of way, an honorable creature. However, attacking the Malufel will earn its ire, and push you *way* up on its priority list. Legends (non corroborated, of course) suggest that the Malufel hunts Dothaven's prisoners only to keep them from discovering the sorcerous weapons hidden inside; weapons that can, supposedly, kill the beast.
And now, a bad scanning.
And Now, Malufel if it was a luchador (Mexican wrestler).
