Murdock's Inspiration


Hi, my name's Steve, commonly called Murdock, and if your here then you've been unfortunate enough to have stumbled across my page... sucks to be you!
Well, here it is, the stuff that inspires me to write the things i write!


Red Dwarf

Possibly THE greatest comedy known to man, no, scrap that, it IS the greatest comedy known to man. This 80's/90's space sit com inspires The Travellers and other things i write hugely, with it's quick wit, mostly harmless jokes and it's ability make you on the floor in stitches after five minutes. I love it and everything to do with it and i can't wait until the movie (and series 9 which they are making after) arrive!

The Simpsons

Ever sinse i can remember i hae watched and loved this program, i love the way it can make any situation funny and make anything into a joke, from when Homer loses a thumb, to when Bleeding Gums Murphy dies. It's full on humour influences my work a good deal.



1st Person Shoot 'Em Ups

What can i say, i love em, and games like these help me with the gory bits of my writing, although bits like that are few and far between, when they do come around i try to make as intense as possible, and there's no doubt that games like these help! God bless gory games!



Terry Pratchett

What can i say... wow! My mum has every single book he has ever written, and that includes ones he's written with other authors, and i've read nearly all of them, and i love them! His sense of humour has to be one of the most original and, well, strange eer to have surfaced in the art of literature! But nonetheless they are fantastic! His writing influences me greatly!



My Friends

Possibly the most influential to me is my friends, my fellow Travellers, Matt's Sarcasm, Josh's wit and Jez's.... well.... just Jez is not only what made me able to write Travellers pieces like i do, but also what makes them funny. Thanks Guys, i appreciate it!
