Name: Shal'ahn Min
User: [Moorn]
Gender: Female
Race: Infernal Siren
Job: Legionnaire
Rank: Archbishop, First Battalion, Alto Class

Appearance: Ever attired in a red dress and pin heels (largely because she can't feel the discomfort of them), Shal'ahn tends to make herself up as if she's going to spend her days in a dance club in hell. The red rings around her eyes aren't makeup, but are the results of her accidental damnation. In figure she is not quite waif-ish, although she does look a bit malnourished. Her ears are longish, pointing back in an elvish manner. Her hair is a deep blood-black color, spilling over her often-bare shoulders in semi-curled torrents. A reddish ring around her neck is generally covered by this hair.

A pair of deep red wings, very demonesque, extend from her back at the shoulderblade. Her musculature in that area is like wrought iron so that she can fly. The wings are leathery, like the wings of dinosaurs, and are quite tough.

Perhaps her most interesting physical quality is her eyes. If one looks directly into her face, her eyes appear a dark, weeping blue. If one looks at her sidelong, or at a glance, her eyes appear perfectly red. And yet, this pales in comparison to her most interesting quality... her voice. (See Abilities)

Weapons/Skills: Shal'ahn's weapon of choice is a bow and arrow, and she has a great love for fire. Often is the time when she will, with a flick of the wrist, light her arrows ablaze before firing them from the air.

Obviously, she has some small skill in pyromancy, but it's not enough to throw fireballs of immolate enemies. Shal'ahn's primary power lies in two very specific areas...

Firstly, Shal'ahn is, and has been for many years, the lead Alto in the infernal choirs of her homeworld. Her voice has a range that no mortal could ever possibly match, from harmonic screeching to soul-warming crooning, a voice that could sing a crying child to sleep as easiliy as it could drive the weak-minded to madness. Even in speaking she can spellbind her listeners, but that aspect is partly due to her charisma as well.

Secondly, Shal'ahn has bodyguards. One, a golden gargoyle of great strength, horrendous appearance, and brilliant luster, is called Aurgamet the Maneater. He bears a heavy, crystal-toothed jaw and a generally quadrupedal stance. Because of his monstrous weight, his body is supported by an enchantment of air magic, supporting him so that he can still move and fly... though he is still somewhat slow. The other is a Pit Shade, a ghoulish boy whose eyes have terrified whole armies into submission, name Malkael.

Both of Shal'ahn's guards are somewhat unintelligent, and perfectly subservient to her. They share most of her weaknesses.

Weaknesses/Faults: Shal'ahn possesses some of the obvious weaknesses of dark beings. She dislikes sunlight, though she is not really harmed by it. Holy symbols can turn her away, but not ready-made symbols. Two sticks held in the shape of a cross will just make her dislike you. A buddha statue from a factory would just make her laugh. But holy scripture, runework and the like, will often turn her away. Blessed objects have the same effect. To cast a curative spell upon her is like torture. She cannot directly cross running water, because of the life energy that exists within it, without a bridge.

As for physical weaknesses, her wings are most vulnerable to blades and arrows. She herself is not tremendously strong, though she is quick. Her pain tolerance is unreal, though... an ability acquired after years of living in damnation.

History: A former sorceress living in a town not far from Ancient Babylon, Shal'ahn was the beautiful consort to a King. Her life was lived in luxurious, if generally oppressive, circumstances, until the fall of the great empire led to her being forced by foreign soldiers to either take her own life or become their consort. As a result, her spirit was damned. She spent two millenia in the bowels of the Pit, until her situation caught the attention of various benevolent forces and she was taken from her eternal prison. As she could not leave the Pit, she was instead given rank, and her talents as a singer were put to use as Singer for the damned. Very little of her humanity remained, until the day that time stopped.

It was an accident, really. After so many years, and so many sorceries cast by ignorant humans, elves, drow, and what have you, the energies of existence became muddled. So many different powers swirling against one another caused a literal freeze of time, which left certain few individuals an interesting edge. Shal'ahn, a being who existed between heaven, hell, and the world, was able to escape from the Pit while all others were frozen.

Nowadays, she and her two confidantes seek to create their own world, their own Pit. Only once did someone have the courage to ask of the Infernal Siren, "why? why create another hell?" to which she simply replied, "to return home".

Personality: Shal'ahn is far from dismal. She is crafty and cunning, charismatic and sometimes empathetic, oftentimes heartless. She despises true purity, probably because she envies it so much, and because the red ring around her neck is evidence of how far she had gone to keep her own. Sometimes she can still feel the rope burning her skin. Oddly enough, she hates the demonic as much as she does the angelic.
