Hey, military lady,
Do you ever miss home?
Do you ever just reflect upon the life you used to know?
Hey, military lady,
You're couragous and strong,
But do the words apply to you or just the mask that you put on?
Hey, military lady,
is this life what you want?
or are you simply making due with whatever you've still got?

You try to carry the world on your shoulders
or like a mother, place it on your hip
and yet no matter how you try to hold us
You can't save us from the way we live.


Hey, military lady,
You're persistent and firm,
but when does being steadfast become too stubborn to learn?
Hey, military lady,
You're so loyal and true,
but is it for hope for your companions or for fear of what you'd lose?
Hey, military lady,
are you finally content?
Are you living life so when you die you'll go without regrets?


You try to carry the world on your shoulders
or like a mother, place it on your hip
and yet no matter how you try to hold us
one day we will finally slip
through your fingers and out of your arms
from your safety and back into harm
from your comfort and back into pain
trade away your dignity to our shame

you're trying to show the world how good you can be

military lady,
understand, you've got nothing to prove to me
Hey,
military lady,
keep us safe from so far away
Hey,
miltary lady,
save yourself, you're the only one worth saving now!
