"Dearest little boy, do come in" the man whispered as he pulled the little homeless boy into the mansion. His new home that was to be his nightmare.

The boy did not resist, for his clothes were tattered and his stomach hungry. Brought into the dim hall and sat down in a chair the boy was told to "Wait here". And so he did. Patiently examining the shadowy rooms, the dimly lit hallway that crept on until darkness, and the tick-tock of the grandfather clock in another room. Then, the voice of the man, "Come here my pet, I have a present for you". The boy, whose hunger and fatigue overpowered his fear, crept down the hallway and into the dark. Wondering were the man had gone, the boy stumbled onto the floor.
"Where have you gone, sir? I cannot find my way in this darkness." The boy meagrely asked while attempting to find his way up again.
The man grabbed the boy and covered his mouth, dragging him down the hallway, he whispered, "Why little child... I am right here".

A childs distraught scream echoed throughout the lurid halls, but was quickly silenced, and to forever be thought of... as merely the wind.
