Train Car 369

Bubble bubble, toil and trouble,
That's MacBeth that is,
Literature.
Listen to the sing-song green of it all,
Wicked, those Witches,
And that's a lie.
More literature,
But who cares?
Try the train ride dear,
Train ride, train ride.
In your own bubble,
Toil and trouble.
Stay out of mine,
Don't look at me.
But look at the frowning feckless fearful faces,
Look, the eyes. The eyes.
They're shifty, won't stay still,
Liar liar liar,
Read your book,
Sunglasses indoors,
Human problem, problem human,
Read the propaganda paper,
Drink the words,
Too much, too much, too much
Coffee
Going crazy, it's all too fast,
Too fast toofasttoofasttoofast,
Emergency exit this way,
More literature.
Nobody living rides the train;
Robots, puppets, mannequins, dolls, marionettes, humans,
No one's real on the train,
But taste the words,
Literature,
Is the Witch really bad?
Evil, malevolent, cruel, heartless,
Who cares, just words.
Ads, yes, subliminal messages,
Go to this college,
More literature.
Bubble bubble, personal bubble,
Don't touch me pervert,
That's my bubble, trouble,
It's in the eyes.
Don't look, feel the words,
Sting, prick, caress, feel,
Paperback romance,
Literature, literature,
Not me, not me,
I read literature, see?
MacBeth, bubble bubble,
Not my trouble.
Wicked Witches,
Really? Lies.
Little girls and straw-stuffed scarecrows,
Love me, don't look,
That's my bubble.
Red seat, blue seat,
Emergency exit,
Look before you leap then,
toil toil, that's my trouble,
Sunglasses indoors, can't fool me.
Liar, liar.
No no, just a scratch,
Literature again,
Don't touch me stranger.
Stranger, danger, danger's stranger,
Where do you belong dear?
Not in Wonderland
That's for sure.
Yeah, literature,
Chatspeak, L33T, you rock girl,
It's all just words.
Words words, a thousand are worth a picture,
Lies, liar, lying,
Fool, jester, joker,
Try that again, I dare you!
No one looks,
You're on a train sweetheart,
Nothing's real.

2006-06-29 Fireheart: Did you actually write this on a train, Sunny dear? It seems to quite obviously stem from your musings on the train. Hmmmm. It's brilliant if I do say so myself.

2006-07-01 RiddleRose: why thank ye! yes, i did in fact write it on a train. i had just finished Wicked too...

2006-10-06 Lanrete: Fantastic. Amazing. I love you. It definitely sounds like it came straight, uncut, from your lovably confused and rambly (is that even a word?) head.

2006-10-06 RiddleRose: that it did darlin, that it did...

2007-02-08 pirate witch: I ADORE it!!! This is without a doubt my favourite you have up. Its so good!

2007-02-09 RiddleRose: kdfjhgla!!! thank you!!! <3

2007-12-01 Tyr Zalo Hawk: Not to put a damper on the mood <.<... but I didn't much care for the fact that it was (mostly) just a collection of thoughts. Of course, you had recurring images like the witches and bubbles, but it was still a bit too... unorthodox (I believe that's the word I'm looking for) for my tastes.
Perhaps it's because I'm more of a, I believe my english teacher called me a 'traditionalist' poet, but... *shrugs*

It's a nice piece, truly it is. Just not much of a poem to me.

2007-12-02 RiddleRose: i know what you mean. i mean, i like it, but that's just cause i wrote it, and i know what i was thinking of. if i was a complete stranger coming and reading it, i suspect my reaction would be a sort of...okay... um... sure... and that would be about it. are you a commuter though? because i think it might mean a little more to someone who commutes for an hour or more by train. you get into this weird surreal kind of mindset, where things just... stagnate. it's not something i've felt anywhere else but at long waits at airports.

also, if you've read the book Wicked that might help.

anyway, thanks for reading and commenting! even if it's not your favourite! ^-^

2007-12-09 Tyr Zalo Hawk: I know what it feels like on those long trips... but I still can't say I understand because... well... I'm ALWAYS in the 'surrealistic' sort of state of mind XD

But hey, your work rocks, for the most part, so it's the least I can do =P

2007-12-12 RiddleRose: awww. thanks!
