We raced past burning buildings until I tripped and fell. Then he picked me up and we headed on. I cried and cried but I will always remember that he never cried a single tear. I watched his stern face as he ran and just beyond it, in the midst of smoke, I could see stars. Things seemed strangely quiet despite imploding buildings and screams. I didn't know many things, but I did know that this was the cause of the stars. I saw them get closer and closer and turn into rocks as they plunged into my home. That's how I knew it was their fault.
