Mia woke up at 6:00am, waking Leala too. Mia showered, then gave Leala some soap and turned her back as the Ancient girl washed. She glanced into the shower out of curiousity.
"Don't eat the soap!!" Mia screamed, pulling the sudsy bar away from Leala's mouth. "You wash with it!!" She scrubbed one of Leala's arm with it. A light must've come on in the girl's head, as she started scrubbing. Mia rolled her eyes and went to get clothes for Leala. She took one of her too-small blouses and a shorter skirt, along with the appropriate undergarnments
"Here, put these on," Mia said, handing them to the girl. Leala got dressed on her own, thankfully, and the two girls headed down to breakfast.
Mia's mom was startled. "Who's this?" she asked.
"It's Leala... He house burned down in a fire, and me and Tessa have volunteered to house her until her family recovers," Mia responded quickly. "C'mon, Leala, what do you want for breakfast?" Leala blinked. Mia sighed, and made some toast. "I know you like this,"
Leala ate the toast. Mia packed a lunch and her homework into her backpack. She thought for a moment.
"I'd better take this," she said, putting the toaster and a loaf of bread into a bag. She looked Leala over. "You need a pre-school make-over," she said matter-of-fact
Leala blnked every now and then, as Mia yelled at the lack of hygiene in the medievil times.
Mia then proceeded to put make-up on Leala.
"Close that eye... Now the other one... No, the other one!! Grrr... Now pucker your lips.... NO!! Don't bite the lipstick!! Ergg... It's ruined now!!"
The final product was a gorgeous Leala, complete with mascara, eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick. Mia and Leala then walked to school, and arrived half an hour early classes.
Justin Mithe was already working quietly at his desk.
"You're late... You must've slept in," he said calmly, smiling. Mia's face turned red in anger.
"Justin!! I hate your sense of humor.. Anyways, I did sleep in. I was up late last night, ressurecting the dead!! Meet Leala," Mia said, pushing Leala foreward. "She doesn't really talk, and she blinks and smiles too big and too much. I think we messed up her head by bringing her back from the dead," Justin looked up at Leala.
"She looks almost identical to you. Anyways, Tessa is 30 running laps, if you want to go see her," he said quietly, getting back to work.
"In the gym?" Mia asked
"No, around the school property," Justin responded.
"But that's like... 2 miles each lap,"
"Yup, she's almost done, too," Justin said. Mia shrugged, knowing how Tessa loved being in perfect physical condition. "Leala? Where you go?" she asked, realizing the girl had disappeared.
Leala came back into the classroom with a peice of toast. She hiccupped, and then the teacher walked into the room and the bell rang. Class went slowly, and Leala spent most of her time examining her pencil.
Finally, 3:14. Everyone held their breath until the bell rang at 3:15. Leala followe Mia to their locker. A good-looking young man ran down the hallway, turned to wave at a friend, and accidentally ran into Leala.
"Hey there!" he said. "You look new around here. I'm Toby Tucker, but you can call me handsome," he leaned close to Leala, and went to kiss her when... BAM! And he was face first on the floor with an angry looking Tessa pressing her knee into his back.
"You keep your hands off this one, Toby, she's not your type," Tessa said. Leala looked scared/happy/g
"Hey Tessa, It was hard looking after Leala today," Mia said, rubbing her head to sooth a headache. "Could you take her now?"
"Sure thing!" Tessa said, taking Leala by the hand and taking her home.
"So, you don't really talk much, huh?" she asked the girl.
Leala blinked. "I... forgot..." she whispered, before curling up on Tessa couch and falling asleep.
"Weird..." Tessa whispered
