He was my first love and there's always going to be a place in the back of my mind that's going to remember him. No matter how bad he hurt me in the end, he taught me things that no one else has.

Over a year has passed
And I’m still wondering why your memory seems to last

I can still remember the smell of the woods
Showing me the waterfall like you told me you would

On that four-wheeler you always went fast
Every time we passed a tree I swore we were going to crash

But even when I was about to fall
You turned around and never once did you stall

You never let me down
Even the times you'd make me frown

You’ve shown me the kindness and love we should give
Having no regrets and just learning to live

You taught me what love can truly be
And now it's something I'm not afraid to see

I’m sorry for hurting you and all the things I’ve done
Because back then I was your number one

Although I may not love you now
Doesn’t mean that you didn’t help me out somehow

To the end and from the start
You’ve left these tracks across my heart
