So, what's wrong with 67%?

So many people think that 2/3 is a bad number, but why?
If you'v got 2/3 of a group on your side, you're the obvious majority. If you're 67% of the way there, you're closing in rapidly to your goal. If 2/3 of the world's population gave 67% of their potential time and energy into promoting something useful then we'd be world's further than we are right now.
To put it bluntly, 67% shouldn't be thought of as nearly as low as I know it is. 50% is supposed to be half, right? It should be where half of everything is, 50%. So if you're 17% above that, that makes you 134% of the average human being. And no one's going to say that that's a bad thing.
You want to say 2/3 is bad? Well I'd bet on those odds anyday.
