Twin turbines. Crimson spikes. Fangs the size of my legs. It was the most vicious looking caterpillar I'd ever seen. A tear rolled down my cheek. Beautiful.
So many disbelievers, and yet, here it was. A giant, sabertoothed, fully driveable caterpillar limo. Sure, it had taken 2 years to build. Fine, it took my attention away from school, everything else, and I had to drop out of school to focus on it. And O.K., only the driver's side eye was tinted, but that stuff doesn't come cheap!
As my friends helped push it out of the barn it was born in, I was left in awr of it. My own two hands had built it, and now the world would see the fruition of my dreams!
I had done what no 3rd grader before me could have! And as I sat behind the wheel only one thing came to mind:
I'm going to need some phonebooks.
