The demon was gone now, Soreth hoped it was back to Vorseth, where those creatures belonged. His rage subsided, and his fists relaxed as he took a deep breath. It would be okay now, Basa was safe from that demon, Soreth wouldn't let him come back.
Basa looked down at the black marks up and down her arms. They weren't bruises, angels can't get bruises, but they hurt. As she watched them slowly disapear into her skin, she felt some sort of cooling sensation, which is never good for a fire angel. It was as if a icy chill had run straight through her entire body, attempting to douse her fire. She began to feel so cold, and it was hard to breathe. The fire angels whole body shuttered from the inner cold as she began to feel lightheaded.
"S-Soreth..." she muttered, falling over onto the ground right behind him.
Soreth spun quickly, his eyes wide as they took in Basa's condition. He dropped to his knees in front of her and began to check her temperature. He placed his warm hand on her forehead, and recived a painful sting as he touched Basa. She was cold, almost ice cold. Soreth turned to Irafel, and was about to tell him something, but then remembered the condition of his dear friend.
"I'll have to take her," he said in a low, stern voice, begginging to take off his top robe.
The robe itself was warm, and it would keep both Soreth safe as he carried Basa, and Basa somewhat warmer than she was on her own. So Soreth wrapped the younger fire angel up and began to carry her towards the Healers Sanctuary, Irafel following close behind.
Irafel looked over his friend and down to Basa, his gaze almost completely unfazed. "A curse?" he questioned quietly.
Soreth realized that that was all it could be, in fact, he was sure, as a demon, he had used a curse very similar to it on many people. However, a chilling curse would have a different effect on a human. Now he was mad, that demon diserved to have a curse put back on him. Soreth held Basa even closer to him, the rage inside him building up enough to emit an outward firery glow about him. Alevex, he thought, you better have a cure for this...
It wasn't very far to the Healers Sanctuary, but it was too far for Basa, who was already chilling the thick, warm outer robe wrapped about her. Irafel looked to his friend, who was obviously feeling the cold in his arms, but said nothing. Soreth's arms stung with the cold running through them, if he held Basa much longer, the curse would set in on his body as well, but he was almost there, and Alevex was coming to meet them.
"What happened?" the motherly angel questioned, taking Basa from Soreth's numbing grasp. "I hear there was a demon on Sol Haven?"
Soreth paused, trying to allow his arms to warm up slightly before the chill moved upwards. He took in a deep breath as he looked from Irafel to Alevex, both looking as though they were waiting for Soreth's responce. "Yes," he replied weakly, still rather shaken by his almost frozen arms, "he came after Basa. from the looks of it, he put a chilling curse on her." He paused, and looked back to Basa, her face turning a paler color than any fire angel should have. He didn't want to explain much more, not until he was sure that Alevex chould do something. "Can you help her?" Soreth asked the female angel. "If we don't get her warmed up soon she'll-!"
"I know what will happen Soreth," Alevex snapped before turning back into the Healers Sanctuary.
There was silence then, as Alevex set Basa up in a bed. She talked with other healers, but Soreth wanted to say something to her. His arms were warm enough now that the curse couldn't catch on to him, but Basa was still getting colder as every second passed. If Alevex knew the cure, she would have said so by this point... and she was still silent.
He was always slightly on the brash side, but Irafel had been the one to keep Soreth from exploding. Now however, Soreth couldn't control himself.
