Here you will find definitions of the categories!

Civilization: Contains themes and images pertaining to humankind and its accomplishments. Society, technology, cityscapes, and so forth go here.

Intangible: Abstract poetry dealing with non-physical themes and images.

Natural: Poetry with nature images and / or themes.

The old categories were...

Emotional: Poetry that intends to make the reader feel a certain way. This category is almost like the 'other' category at the Arena.

Free Verse: Poetry that doesn't necessarily adhere to rhyme, rhythm, or meter traditions. Just because it doesn't rhyme doesn't make it free verse, and it is also more than lines. Poems submitted here must have poetic elements (imagery, poetic devices, simile, metaphor, that sort of thing) and pass a deeper quality inspection than the other two. Typically, this category wants free verse that doesn't really fit into either of the other categories.

Narrative: Poetry that tells a story using poetic elements.  "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe is a perfect example of this style. Regardless of other elements, entries in this category must tell some sort of tale.

2007-03-30 [Mister Saint]: *snaps* I knew we missed something in the overhaul. I'll get on this today.
