Fees, Prizes, Publishing

Fees
Official WritersCo contests will have a small entry fee. The money collected will go towards the prize fund and towards our yearly WritersCo Anthology.

The current entry fee per submission is only £3
(coversion rates)
£3 GBP = €4.41 EUR
£3 GBP = $5.26 USD

These fees will be divided in the following manner: 60% towards prizes and 40% towards publishing. All fees will be collected through PayPal. Therefore all participants will need to setup a PayPal account at (www.paypal.com). Fees are to be paid to the WritersCo Account and you should include your User Number and the contest you are entering.

To pay by PayPal, please see www.competitions.writersco.com.

You may also pay via personal cheque. You may wish to send a larger sum and have credit for a few competitions. If you wish to send a personal cheque, speak with [Font]

Both your entry and your entry fee must be received before the deadline. Any entries that are not accompanied by an entry fee will be immediately disqualified.

Multiple Submissions

You can enter more than one entry, but each entry will be subject to the fee.

Prizes

The first place winner will receive 40% of that contest's total fee fund and the runner-up will receive 20%. These prizes will be paid through PayPal. Winners will be determined by a Judging Panel. Prizes will be handed out no later than two weeks after the announcement of the winners.

Publishing

Winners and possibly runner-ups (to be determined at a later date) will be published in the WritersCo yearly anthology. The WritersCo Anthology will be published each November starting in 2006. 40% of the entry fees received in contests will go towards covering the costs of this publishing and will help in reducing the purchase cost of said book. See The Anthology for more details.

2005-10-03 [Janouk]: I do have a question about this: officially, you can only have a PayPal account when you're over 18 years old. If you haven't got parents who can support you with this, how can you enter contests?

2005-10-03 [Font]: Would your parents let you send a cheque?

2005-10-03 [Janouk]: No, don't think so. ^^ O well, I'm not so good a writer anyhow ;)

2005-10-03 [Janouk]: (and I realize I overlooked that you can also enter contests without fees ^^)

2005-10-03 [RiverStar]: Well you are definately encouraged to participate in the none fee contests
