[Kiddalee]'s Reading Goals

Aagh! I never thought I'd ever create one of these pages. I just know it's going to keep expanding, and very little will get done.

But, there are just a lot of things I really must read through, some time in my life. I suppose it will help to separate short term, more urgent, and maybe even more realistic goals from goals to read those famous, big deal pieces that everybody thinks they have to read. I don't necessarily put items within each category in order of urgency. Someday, I will also have a list of successes. I will also start using coded icons to remind myself that a particular work is rare, a translation, public domain (ie: quite old), or written by assholes.

Immediate Goal

Currently, my only real goal is to read as many books from my own bookshelf as possible so that I can get rid of as many as possible before I have to lug my things to a new place. I'll probably end up reading mostly short and/or easy books in order to maximize the new space I make.

Short Term Goals

Complete The Cosmic Trilogy by CS Lewis
BRICK: Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Issue
Read The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien again
Get some Tin Tin comics and read them In French :o
Le Petit Prince in French by Antoine de Sainte Exuperie(sp?)
Have another Harry Potter marathon, this time including book 7. And try not to go insane.
Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller


Long Term Goals

The Witches' Hammer or (Something) Maleficarum by a couple of assholes pretending to be Christian
Finally read The Silmarillion by Tolkien
Finally get my hands on and read The Unfinished Tales by Tolkien
Somehow learn of the existance of and read The Adventures of Tom Bombadil by Tolkien

The Bonds of Matrimony by Pu Suling (17th century China)
