First off, this is only for people who can laugh at anything easily (to check if you are one of these people, watch an episode of the Colbert Report. If you don’t laugh, buy the book and read the book to find out what you’re doing wrong and watch another episode. If you don’t laugh a second time, I wouldn’t recommend reading the book). The book is filled with satire and flat out funny thoughts from the man who gave us a word of the year: truthiness.

I Am America (And So Can You!) goes through some of Colbert’s life, some of his thoughts and believes, and more importantly Colbert himself. The book is somewhat hard to go into detail on (that would be me giving out the fascinating details you should be going to buy right about now).

The only other thing to review is the author himself. Stephen Colbert’s one and only book (he thinks reading is bad and encourages mindless TV watching) is a true American book (according to the author) which was written by a true American (also according to the author). I highly recommend this book (as does he on the back of the cover: ‘A great read! I laughed, I cried, I lost 15 pounds! I cannot recommend this book highly enough!’).
