Technical Details: Article Writing Guidelines

Anybody may write for Technical Details. You don't even need to ask permission. Aside from that, here are a few rules and guidelines you should follow.

• Do not copy and paste information from another article (unless you wrote what you're using)! Plagiarism is evil!
• Please name your article [TD - Articlename@wiki].
• Please export your article.
• Add your article to the list in alphabetical order.
• Add your name to the credits in alphabetical order.
• Keep the article cleaned up and organised. Headings and lists might be helpful, but you can organise things your own way. If an article is really horrible (which won't be likely), I'll remove it from the list and ask you politely to clean it up. Oh, and use the "Back to..." section at the bottom of every page here.
• You may list your article when it's only partially done, as long as it's presentable. Just make a note that it's incomplete (and please don't abandon it).
• Choose the most relevant title. Don't call your article "Dancing" if you're only writing about Ballet. If you only want to write about Ballet, either call your article "Ballet" or make it a section of the general "Dancing" article.
• Be open to criticism and help. Nobody knows everything, and your article may not always be complete. If someone points out that your article is missing a section, it is a good idea to either update it or let them add it and take some credit.

When Writing About Mythological Creatures
Fantasy is fantasy. This being said, one interpretation of a fantastic creature is not the only one people should use or know about. A unicorn is not always a creature with a goat's legs, a narwhal's horn, and a lion's tail.
When writing general articles about fantastic creatures, try to gain a global perspective on them. For instance, if you were to write [TD - Unicorns@wiki], you would not only focus on the powerful goat-like creature of English legend; you would also include the docile Chinese unicorn and other major interpretations of the beast. If you only want to write about English unicorns, you could either make it one section of a general article written with helpers (who would also get credit), or title your article [TD - English Unicorns@wiki].
