WC Crew - New Vacant Posts

Within the last few days WritersCo has had a crew reform. We realised that we needed more crew to help with certain areas, and that we needed some new ideas and suggestions to get things going again. From now on instead of having one boss over the entirety of WritersCo, we have split the community up into three separate sections, which are as follows:

The Writing Section - responsible for all writing related activities.

The Member Section - responsible for looking after the members.

The Admin Section - responsible for looking after the community.

There will still be a Community Boss to oversee each section and act as the final decision maker if need be.
Each section has its own boss, its own mods and its own crew. As you can imagine splitting each section up has split the work load, and increased the need for additional volunteers. At the moment current staff have decided which position they would like to be placed in (these decisions have been reflected on the Staff page).

We currenltly have a few vacancies within the WritersCo crew. We will not be recruiting to fill these positions all at once, but over the next few weeks will gradually fill these positions.

Drabbles for All!

That's right. Drabbles is our first community-wide contest.

What is a drabble? A tiny prose piece of 100 words. As a part of the challenge, you incorporate a certain theme. This contest's theme is to make a candle very important. Now go enter!

Judging is by Mainpage poll. Prizes include bragging rights, the knowledge that you have won a contest that a lot of people will probably be entering, and awards credits. Prizes are subject to increase retroactively and/or without notice.

PDA

That stands for the Poetry Dueling Arena! This is where poems go head to head, and where long-standing champions can be overturned by the whims of the audience. Do you think your poem has what it takes to remain forever? Check out the Arena, cast your votes, and even attempt to challenge those seeming goliaths of the polls. Bring your best to the Poetry Dueling Arena right now!

Community-Wide Contests

Hiya. Thread [5493] turned out to be nicely active, and we've all come up with some cool ideas. So here's a summary:

- Featured contests will take place bi-monthly or quarterly. We still need to decide that.
- We will either use existing contests in order to find them some action, or we will make up new ones. Which we do will vary. The way we decide will vary, too.
- Winners will be chosen by a Main Page poll. If a premade contest isn't normally run like this, it will have to be tweaked just for this event.
- To make winning mean something, there will be a minimum of 4 entries before we close and go to poll (unless it takes so long to get them that people are getting bored).

If you are running a wiki-contest, and don't mind it being featured on the Main Page at some point, please message your favourite active staff member, stating that you don't mind having your contest featured if they would notify you far enough ahead to make proper arrangements, and that you'd be willing to be active for the time of that contest. This is not an application, so you don't have to sell your contest. Just give permission and all that.

Staff, please refer to your forum.
