Community Projects
Writersco is looking for forum/wiki groups or projects which will help bring us all together as a community. Of course we acknowledge that a bunch of them already exist, but haven't gotten as much exposure as they could.
Well, now you can
get your stuff on the news. Remember to read the specs for newsworthy groups on that page, and then apply. Come on. You know you want to!

A Rules Crackdown Approacheth!
Well, Writersco, the mods will admit it: we haven't been enforcing all of the rules. Most of them, yes, but this little snippet simply wasn't being properly acknowledged:
Do not put questionnaires or any other irrelevant text/imagery in your description. Your description should be about you as a writer or your submission guidelines as a literary company.
This is important because it keeps Writersco neat, professional, and writing-orient
ed. Now, this doesn't mean that everything you include in your presentation has to be only about how you write. After all, who you are as a person is a big part of your identity as an author. However, writing and Writersco are all about originality.
Therefore, this ignored rule has been made more specific:
"You should not copy any text that you didn't write into your description. If you wish to add a quote or extract from someone else's work, then you must credit that author for the quote by name and the title of their work."
This means that no more "motorcycle stories," Abercrombie and Fitch "statistics," or any such silliness may be passed around from description to description. Certainly you can come up with something better on your own, anyway!
There will be a one week grace period for members to change their descriptions to follow this clarified rule. Please remove all of your copied-pasted material! Seven days from the exact time of this posting, the moderators will begin removing these things from descriptions manually and issuing warnings.
Enjoy the tidier Writersco, everyone!Date: 2006-06-03 09:20:18

Good question! Click the link above to see how you, yes, YOU can contribute to this community. After all, a community is made of the people in it. That's why the people in WritersCo are really able to do a lot more than they'd expect, to build it up (just about the only thing you can't do is tear it down).

Bit bored of Writing?
Well now if you ever find yourself a little bored of writing (I hear many people saying “How could that even be possible?”), you can pop over to the
Now! Page (you will see the link just to the right of this post). This is a totally general wiki-chat where you can discuss anything that comes to mind within reason.
Do remember that the all seeing eyes of the WC crew will, from time to time, hover over to that page, and if they see any inappropriate talk, all hell will break loose! So to save yourself from their wrath, be sensible, behave, and follow the rules!
